This place is tucked away at Crowder's Mountain and has a great atmosphere. Our kids had a blast. There were fire pits, hot cocoa, and Christmas lights.
Update : Back again in 2024. Even better this year. Christmas decorations, hot chocolate and a fireplace to get warm. 2023 : Our family had a GREAT time! Can't wait to go back
This was a great place to visit. We took the grandkids the Friday afternoon Christmas. The hour time slot was plenty of time They were all worn out And from what I understand all proceeds go towards scholarships for kids that can’t afford their summer camp Good job
This was so much fun. We really enjoyed ourselves. The HOT CHOCOLATE was Amazing. The kids loved the slides! Staff 100% awesome!!
We had an amazing time! We were able to go down the shoots as fast as we could get back to the top! The staff was great, very friendly! Definitely must go again, hopefully before the season ends!
Six of us went and had a blast!! What a great time for less than $20!. Do not let the lack of a big "hill" discourage you; we got some really fun speed going. Especially if you do a train with 3 or 4 other people. You will go much faster. The staff consisted of all young people (younger than 20 years old I would guess) and they were all wonderful. Professional, friendly and accommodating. I will certainly return. I highly recommend.
Just returned from a fantastic session. Love that there is a conveyor belt to bring the tubes up the hill. We had a blast -- the hour timeslot is perfect! Staff was so nice and the decorations and music got us all in the holiday spirit. I wish they had a 5 pm session to get an earlier start but no complaints, it's a really run family outing.
I went with another adult and four kids total (ages 3, 5, 8, 9) on opening night, 11/2022. We didn’t know what to expect, but we all came away with huge smiles on our faces. The Chutes was unexpectedly fun and the kids absolutely loved it, but there are some important caveats. PROS: Super friendly staff and an overall really comfortable atmosphere. The area is well-lit and the overall design of the place is nice. There are three slides, so wait times are minimal. At the hill’s base, there are picnic tables with a campfire for those who want to enjoy family time (and take videos), but who will not be riding. Be forewarned that you will FLY down the hill…these tubes go FAST!! There are also concessions inside with some delicious hot chocolate. While it was a warm night when we went, that hot chocolate could definitely hit the spot on a chilly late Fall evening. CONS: While not at all in-your-face, there is a Christian/evangelical feel (eg, “our creator, God” and “our Lord and savior, Jesus” are mentioned in the safety video). Be aware if religious overtones are offensive to you and note that your admission helps to offset costs for the Christian summer camp held there each year. The biggest drawback is that there was no conveyor belt, so all tubes had to be lugged up the hill manually. This was near impossible for anyone under the age of 10, so parents be forewarned that you will definitely get your workout in! Overall, we had a great time and would recommend The Chutes to anyone, irrespective of religious affiliation. It’s a fun, safe, friendly atmosphere and your kids (and you!) will have fun. Said our 5 year old: “this is the greatest night of my life!”
